Our Story

Stella Maris Ranch & Our Lady's Healing Center
In 2021, Ralph and Linda Schmidt were presented with a need by someone close to them for an intensive, residential spiritual and emotional healing center, which focused on the teachings of the Catholic Church, provided the Sacraments, and focused on Jesus as the true source of healing. While many healing ministries existed, and still exist today, that include aspects of this kind of unique healing center, they could find none that included everything they felt was important. So after much prayerful discernment, they felt the call to create one. Providence led them to a fishing lodge that hadn’t been occupied in a few years on San Antonio Bay just outside of Victoria on the Gulf Coast. Upon arriving, there was a sense of something special there. After crawling around in the rafters and walls of this old fishing and hunting lodge, Ralph, an experienced engineer, knew that while this place needed some work, it had been built to withstand storms. They knew they had found the location. They purchased 140 acres on San Antonio Bay, now known as Stella Maris Ranch, LLC, which included the fishing and hunting lodge, along with 12 guest rooms, a swimming pool, a fishing pier, and five longhorns (which these Aggie owners continue to lovingly care for). Ralph and Linda formed Our Lady’s Healing Center, LLC in November 2022. Working alongside their dedicated team, after much prayer, hard work, and “sprucing up,” Our Lady’s Healing Center opened in March 2023 with its very first retreatant. Since then, OLHC has continued to grow and reach more souls in need of Our Lord’s Divine healing.

Catholic Tradition
We are a one-of-a-kind Catholic Healing Center which focuses on the Sacraments and the traditions and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

Aftercare Program
We are the only Catholic Healing Center with a 12-month Aftercare Program, where Program Guests have one-on-one weekly meetings with a Spiritual Companion for a whole year.

"Jesus, Alone"
Our Healing Philosophy is: “Jesus, Alone". We know and believe becoming a true and ardent Disciple of Jesus Christ, a hyphenated “Jesus-self”, brings true the true Divine Healing we long for. We do not incorporate other philosophical or psychological approaches into our Healing Program.

Forming Saints-in-the-Making
We have a dedicated Institute for Formation of Spiritual Directors where our Spiritual Companions and Certified Spiritual Directors have been trained and continue their own formation in our Healing Philosophy and Program. These include 2 Program Guests who've completed their year-long Healing Program.

Our Healing Philosophy

Our Healing Philosophy is “Jesus, Alone”. Becoming His Disciple is the key to true Divine Healing. We do not incorporate other philosophical or psychological approaches or modalities. We know and believe becoming a true Disciple of Jesus, a hyphenated “Jesus-self” brings the true Divine Healing we long for. Hence, the phase, “Jesus, Alone.”
At Our Lady's Healing Center, we strive to offer an encounter with Jesus, our Divine Healer by providing in each session, sound scriptural and theological teaching on Jesus and His healing message of salvation and new life. You will have the opportunity during the Program to understand and be captivated by the magnetic Person of Jesus and His persuasive and life-giving teachings. Hopefully, you will get in touch with the deepest yearnings of your heart for a transformed life through a unitive relationship with Jesus. In the Proclamation of Mark 1:15, Jesus tells us that now is the time of fulfillment for the participant. What was the age and experience of darkness, resulting in chaos and turmoil in our lives, need no longer be the case because we have welcomed Jesus into our lives as Our Savior and Lord! You can experience true peace and joy because your life will no longer be bereft of meaning and purpose, making a journey from an unhappy, miserable, and sinful past into a new era of peace, joy, and light, because we are embraced by Jesus and have embraced Him as well?

Who We Are

We are a group of men and women who have come together for a specific mission—to bring the Good News of Healing through Jesus Christ, the Divine Healer, to all those in need. In each of our respective roles, we seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit and our Blessed Mother's assistance in walking with and serving the Guests of Our Lady's Healing Center with God's love, mercy, and compassion in our hearts.
